About Wooden Memories
Wooden Memories was founded back in 1983 by Ken Williams, a long-time woodworker and high school shop teacher. One day while lamenting the lack of originality in woodcraft plans on the market, his brother-in-law said, “Well, if you think you can do it better, do it!” And so, it was. Ken started to design and develop lovable, comical, and whimsical plans for DIY woodcraft beginners.
Ken’s simple-as-possible approach to plan designs have had far-reaching success on all seven continents––from state fair blue-ribbon winners to federal prison inmates to amateur woodworkers in Antarctica, who built assorted toy cars to ward off boredom.
What began as a challenge, blossomed into a successful business. Today, with more than 100 original designs, Wooden Memories continues to offer the best full-scale, DIY woodworking plans in the world––plans for children’s furniture, recreational toys, and home and garden décor. The plans lead the beginner and assist the experienced in making treasured wooden memories for loved ones.
